Every month, we have the exciting opportunity to randomly choose a department within the Company to select a charity for donation.

In January, our Customer Service Department choose The Burlington Food Bank.

It is a vital non-profit organization in Burlington that provides essential food and personal care items for low-income households in Halton Region. They work tirelessly to offer fresh produce, meat, non-perishables, dairy, baby products, pet food, and seasonally available locally grown produce. Since the onset of COVID, the local need has tragically increased by 60% in 2020 and has continued to rise by 20% each year since.

Donating money, rather than food, to the food bank empowers the organization to leverage their buying power. They can stock up on the most needed items based on the community’s needs.

Unfortunately, food banks often receive spoiled or expired food, which leads to increased disposal and waste costs. As well as wasted volunteer hours sorting through donations that ultimately need to be discarded. They kindly encourage you to think about making a financial contribution directly.
