The YMCA of Hamilton-Burlington-Brantford is a charitable organization that creates spaces for individuals above all to belong. In addition they promote healthy living for people at all stages of life as well as offer other programs and services.
Halton Women’s Place firstly opened its doors in Milton in October 1980. At least in the first two years of operation more than 500 women and children were accommodated and more than 700 crisis calls were received.
During 2012 they opened their doors called “Next Door Social Space” seeks to be good neighbours. While gathering together for meals and social activities all in all to build a community of trust and respect, which is welcoming to everyone.
This journey represents – a beacon of light for those struggling with mental health and the opportunity to raise $1 million for Team RWB.
Together we can feed the hungry in our community. The Burlington Food Bank is a place where anyone from Burlington can receive at least help with putting food on their table.
January was mental wellness month. CMHA has 330 community locations and is a nationwide organization that promotes basically mental health as well as supporting people recovering from mental illness.

For instance, in December, our Customer Service team selected “Burlington Humane Society”
“CS-1 employees are big on animals. What better way to share our passion and love of animals then donating to a local charity that is dedicated to helping stray and abandoned animals in Burlington” says Kaitlyn, Customer Service Supervisor.
The Challenge: One of our clients specifically required CS-1 Transportation Inc. to move (2) two high-value products in early October from Toronto to California.
The Strategy: Therefore, this required a lot of attention to detail and in fact took approximately 5-months of preliminary work with the client, and multiple carriers.
Wellington Square United Church offers a safe, inclusive environment to explore your faith, and share what they have with the community. They offer a Community HUB and Lunch believing that compassion is as important as ever.
On August 1, 2023, at the Eagles Nest Golf Club for a spectacular day on the golf course, an evening of cocktails, a contemporary gourmet dining experience and an exciting live auction, all hosted by the brilliant and hilarious Daniel Stolfi.

In May, our employees unanimously selected Carpenter Hospice towards Team Pat O’Day
In May 2023, one of our dedicated employees had a close family member, Pat O’Day, passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. However, Pat’s final weeks were spent at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, where he was part of the volunteer family for 10 years. Learn More
The Challenge: For instance, one of our clients contacted us on a Friday night, around 7:30pm in a panic because a carrier had bailed. They required a round trip from Rochester, NY to Detroit, MI for a loading the next day, Saturday at 8am.

In April, our Management team selected Ride or Stride for Claudio
CS-1 Transportation is a proud supporter of the Ride or Stride for Claudio, a fundraiser event that raises money for the SickKids Lymphoma Research Fund. This fund supports the Division of Haematology/Oncology at Toronto’s SickKids Hospital, and one of the largest divisions in the Department of Paediatrics, in addition it focuses on understanding how this disease develops, progresses, is diagnosed and ultimately how to treat and care for children with this cancer. For instance in March, our Accounting department selected the The Princess Margaret D.I.Y. to Conquer Cancer
The Princess Margaret has the expertise to treat over 200 types of cancers including the rarest forms of the disease and it is home to the largest clinical trials program in Canada. Learn More.
The Challenge: Our Logistics team received a unique request to submit a quote (1) one month in advance. The requirements to submit the quote were quite extensive. Requesting information from the driver license number down to their eye and hair colour. Most importantly, we needed to ensure that the driver had a crystal-clear criminal driver record. Learn More.
In February, our Dispatch – Team 2 selected the McMaster SickKids
McMaster SickKids aims to raise funds for the SickKids Foundation and The Hospital for Sick Children through fundraising and charity events.
The Challenge: A client in world class architectural design required our services to ship their product from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City to the NBA All-Star 2023 Utah event. Originally the client requested one 26’ straight truck. However, upon arrival they realized that the truck requested would not be large enough for their product. Learn More.
In January, our Customer Service Department choose The Burlington Food Bank.
The Burlington Food Bank is a non-profit organization in Burlington providing food and personal care items for low-income households in Halton Region. Therefore providing fresh produce, meat, non-perishables, dairy, baby products, pet food and seasonally available locally grown produce from community gardens and trees. Since COVID, the local need has increased 60% in 2020 and has continued to increase 20% per year since.

In October 2008, Steve Cooper, General Manager of CS-1 started the company believing customer service, customer satisfaction, and communication, were all undervalued assets in the freight brokerage industry. A thriving automotive company approached CS-1 Transportation to assist in their time sensitive shipments delivering into a major OEM in South West, Ontario. In addition, the newly implemented ELD’s team drivers were sometimes required to ensure there would be no down time.
